Miss Amina Shafik is an experienced Consultant Gynaecologist. She performs a wide range of gynaecological surgery including Laparoscopic and Hysteroscopic operations, vaginal and abdominal surgery, urinary incontinence procedures and correction of prolapse operations.
She consults in London and Kent (please see Consulting Rooms for more information).
Miss Shafik has extensive experience in gynaecology. In addition to her basic medical degree (MB BCh), she also holds a Master degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (MSc) and a fellowship to the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG). She had advanced/tertiary referral centre training in minimal invasive surgery, vaginal reconstruction surgery, urogynaecology, colposcopy and subfertility. She is an accredited Laparoscopic and Hysteroscopic gynaecologist, an accredited colposcopist and a certified urodynamicist.
She was appointed as a full time consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at University Hospital Lewisham, London, from June 2002 till August 2008. She now practices in the private sector only.
She offers a full range of gynaecological services including the management of: heavy periods, fibroids, endometriosis and pelvic pain, smear abnormalities and colposcopy, subfertility and polycystic ovarian syndrome, urinary incontinence and prolapse problems and menopause.
